One question I get almost every week from Muslim guests is "where can I pray in Alanya?" The good news is that this town has some genuinely beautiful mosques, several of them centuries old, and all of them within easy reach of the main hotel zones. Here is my honest, first-hand list of the five worth visiting.

The 5 Best Mosques in Alanya

1. Kuyularönü MosqueThis is the one I send most guests to first. The interior is covered in blue and green mandala style patterns, and there is a dedicated women's prayer section reached from the visitor entrance on the left. Address: Şekerhane, Bostancıpınarı Cd. No:4.

2. Süleymaniye Mosque (inside Alanya Castle)Built in 1231 by the Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat and later rebuilt by Suleiman the Magnificent, this is the most historic option on the list, and it pairs naturally with a castle visit. Address: Hisariçi, Ehmedek Sk. No:10.

3. Kazım Bulut MosqueA quieter neighborhood mosque with a lovely garden. Guests who visit often mention how present and welcoming the imam is at every prayer time. Address: Saray Mahallesi.

4. Yeni Cami (New Mosque)It looks modest from the street, but the calligraphy and shadow-effect decoration inside are some of the best in town. There is a separate upstairs section for women. Address: Şekerhane, Hayate Hanım Cd. No:50.

5. Hacı Kadiroğlu MosqueA small, three-story mosque right next to the Red Tower, with the harbor just steps away. Easy to combine with a walk along the marina. Address: Çarşı, İskele Cd. No:92.
Can's note: All five of these are open daily and welcome visitors, not just for prayer. If you are not sure about dress code or timing, just ask at the entrance, people here are used to guests and happy to help.
