I will be honest about my first time. I was nervous. I knew they were cubs, I knew it was supervised, and I still felt my heart rate go up the moment the guide opened the gate. And then nothing. They came over, one of them sat on my feet, and I realised within about thirty seconds that these animals are about as threatening as a large kitten. That is genuinely what it feels like. The fear disappears almost immediately and what replaces it is something I find hard to describe accurately. It is one of the few experiences in Alanya that I have never heard anyone describe as disappointing.
For children this is on a completely different level. I have seen kids come out of that enclosure unable to stop talking. It stays with them. If you are travelling with children and you are deciding between tours, make this one of them.
